Here we present you further information about the climate on our beautiful island Kos and usefull tipps for sailing and surfing.

Wind

On Kos it is windy almost every day. The wind direction is north and west. In the afternoon it normally reaches 4-6 Beaufort, in the morning even up to 8 Beaufort. An exceptional case is the warm wind Schirokko with up to 10 Beaufort. This wind can be very dangerous, even for swimmers. You can find weather information at the prosport's station. Our experience shows that there is the perfect sail and surfing weather for everybody during your holidays.

Waves

Kos is surrounded by the Islands Kalymnos, Plati and Pserimos. There will be waves at a wind speed from 3 to 4 Beaufort. At the positions of dead water the waves are small and the distances are short. At the sand banks the waves become cliffy. Sometimes waves reach over two meters height.

Air temperature

From May to September there is almost no rain on Kos and even cloudy skies are very uncommon. The summer temperature is very gently because of the sea wind. The average temperatures are:

May 20-24 °C
June 23-26 ° C
July 25-27 °C
August 26-30 °C
September 24-26 °C
October 22-24 °C
November 19-23 °C

Tower flags

Sailing and surfing - Pay attention to the following flags::

Security

The most important rules in water sports are security and consideration. That is the reason appealing everyone to pay attention to the following rules: Before you start your water sports you have to sign in the list on the counter so that we know who is outside. Please do not apart more than one kilometer from the coast (Greek water sports law). Please talk to us about excursions out of visibility range, e.g. to Marmari. Please use the marked off buoyage area for start and landing. Remember the safe distance to swimmer and other sailing or surfing persons. Have a nice time on Kos.
